CMP Radio provided a unique opportunity for Internet users around the globe, to present their very own radio
show LIVE from their own home with simplicity. Using only a simple set up,
such as a PC with MP3 music, the user was able to plan and present a show to other CMP Radio listeners all
over the world, within minutes! Many of our members had set up full home studios to provide a professional
edge to their shows - the extent of dedication to CMP Radio was amazing.

During our fantastic 18 months on air, CMP Radio has helped over 500 presenters to achieve their dream of
presenting a radio show LIVE. Many users went on to form successful radio careers in RSL, Hospital and even
FM stations, after getting a kick start using our service.
The success of CMP Radio has been down to the fantastic team of dedicated members who formed part of gold
presenting team, news team, technical team and of course the management team.

The technical systems used at CMP Radio were bespoke developments that were not available to purchase from
the commercial industry. Software was written to handle the complete day-to-day station operation, including
playlists, show scheduling, web bookings, news, adverts, promotions and accounts. Everything was remotely
accessible to be administered from any location in the world, via encrypted terminal facilities.
The system kept management informed at all times, sending e-mails about shows missed, accounts suspended,
show bookings made and any hardware faults that occur. A simple "URL click" from the e-mails, informed the
system of the actions to be taken. Everything in the system was designed to be simple, and during our time
on air the system was constantly changed and updated to make it better and more efficient.
Even the process of presenting on the station was simple! The presenter simply downloaded our free broadcaster
interface, which interacted with our main system at all times. The broadcaster had a count-down timer to inform
them when to start broadcasting, and when to stop, and the broadcaster also handled all audio operations. As
far as we know, this technology has not been available to Internet broadcasting before now.

Apart from being one of the most unique and simple-to-use broadcast services on the web, we also achieved
many other great things during our time on air.
A dedicated news team: CMP Radio was one of the first online stations to
feature its own dedicated news team. We provided news up to 16 hours a day on the top of every hour. Special
extended bulletins, sport and weather information has also been featured, as well as an extended "News Weekly"
show that provided a fantastic round up of the week's news, in an informative and entertaining way. Our 9-man
team of news readers compiled and presented their own scripts and all contributed to the News Weekly shows.
Specialist news scripting software was also provided to our team to aid in the script compilation process.
Outside broadcasts: 2 major events in CMP's history included 2 broadcasts

made off-site, featuring the complete management team. In 2003 we attended a special rock concert in Harwell
Village, Oxfordshire - Multitrak 2003! We presented a special opening show from a studio at the event, and
provided entertainment between performances that were being broadcast live from the event. The broadcast
was a great success and was thoroughly enjoyed by all. In 2004 we held a special "Birthday Bash" broadcast
to celebrate our first year on air. The event ran over a weekend and featured big prize giveaways - the
feedback from listeners during this event was amazing!

The closure of CMP Radio on Wednesday 29th December 2004, was a very difficult decision to make. Changes in
music licensing terms, coupled with the increasing workload and financial burden made it difficult for us to
continue broadcasting.
We must say a massive heart-felt thank you to everyone who has been involved with CMP Radio during its time
on air - we couldn't have done it without any of you!
This web page will remain live for the forseeable future, and our interactive forum will stay online. Over
our time on air we have built up a massive community and we would like everyone to stay in touch, using our
forum where appropriate.
As for the CMP team, well we always have ideas up our sleeves! All our knowledge, contacts and technical
systems will remain available and will be put to good use on future projects. We will use this web space
to let everyone know of any plans, so keep checking back once in a while to see what we're up to.
We would like to wish everyone the absolute best of luck in their future projects and careers - every one
of the members we helped has the potential to make it in the media business. Be strong and remain positive
for the future!
Best Wishes,
CMP Radio
Chris Moses - Station Manager / Technical Director
Dave Moses - Station Manager / Programme Controller
Daniel Hoult - Head of News
Aaron Beadle - Director of Operations
Ben Evans - Production Manager
